So I know this sounds a little strange but we took our friends on a tour of Boulder the other day that included the hardware store. McGuckin Hardware has everything you’ve ever needed and all of the employees are nice and helpful!  On the way to the hardware store, we stopped by a new coffee shop and I discovered my new favorite drink!  It’s a matcha green tea latte.

Luckily, I had picked up some matcha green tea powder during a layover in Japan several months ago.  It’s delicious but you can find matcha all over the place including most fancy grocery stores now so don’t panic.  You’ll need matcha powder, milk or milk alternative, your favorite sweetener and a way to froth the milk.

I picked up the aerolatte handheld milk frother.  It’s excellent.  Mix 1 Tablespoon of green tea powder with 1 Tablespoon of hot water in your mug.  Warm 1 cup of milk or milk alternative in the microwave or on the stove.  I used almond milk and it made for a very nutty flavor. Froth the warm milk, pour the warm milk without the froth into your mug, sweeten your latte, then spoon the froth on top.  Enjoy your latte!  It’s my new favorite way to drink matcha!
